Changing Printer Toner
Best Practices
- Mark toner boxes appropriately i.e. clearly label new ones "FULL".
- Handle the large cartridges carefully, holding them by the blue handles.
- Failure to do so may cause carcinogenic toner to spill out, making a mess. If this happens, clean quickly with a damp piece of kitchen towel, or vacuum it up.
- Place used cartridges in an empty bin bag and tie it, with one cartridge per bag.
Office Printer
- Open the flap at the top.
- Remove the old cartridge at a ~45 degree angle (a reasonable amount of force and wiggling is required).
- Insert a new one in its place.
- Close the hatch and send a document to check that it works.
- In the printer options, select "LOW TONER - NO" (WIP).

Proj. Box Printer
- DO NOT KNOCK THE PROJECTOR.
- Move the posters in front of the printer away from the "Classically Forbidden Zone".
- Pull down the front of tray 1.
- Lift up the top front panel of the printer.
- Pull down the next front panel of the printer.
- Holding the green tabs, pull down the final front panel of the printer, holding the green tabs at the sides. This should reveal the toner cartridges.
- Pull the empty cartridge out straight.
- Replace it in the same way, with the curved edges of the blue handles pointing down.
- Close up the panels in reverse order and switch the printer back on.
