The Secretary role was an Exec role dealing with administrative duties in the society. It was originated at the society's inception.

Changes in the Secretary role

The Secretary role was created in 1974, and existed until the 2000-2001 exec, who decided that it should become the new role of Chief Duty Manager. This was ratified in December 2000, and the role ceased to exist at the next election.

The 2005-2006 exec chose to recreate the role, redistributing the role of Equal Opportunities and Socials Officer - this was ratified in January 2006, and the role rejoined exec at the next election.

In February 2011, a vote was taken to change the role of Secretary to that of the Vice-President. This was ratified, and the role stopped existing at the next election.
