Chief Editor
The Chief Editor was an exec role from 2014-2017, although it had existed as a role on the Publicity Team beforehand. As an exec role, it was originated by Chloë Pugh. The Chief Editor's main responsibility was to oversee the creation of the booklet, and to work with the Publicity Officer to help create termly and weekly publicity.
Creation and dissolution
The Chief Editor post was promoted to exec following concerns that the workload of the Publicity Officer was too high, and that the responsibility could be shared across two exec roles - the Chief Editor would be solely responsible for creation of the termly booklet, and then aid in general publicity matters.
During the 2014-2015 exec, it was decided that the value of the booklet was to be found solely in enticing students to join the society in the first term (this was also connected to cost concerns regarding the viability of the booklet). It was decided in an exec vote to only produce one booklet from then on, to be used in the Autumn Term.
The role of Chief Editor was reviewed by the 2016-2017, who concluded (with input from previous Chief Editors) that the role was no longer substantial enough to exist as an exec role in its own right. It was voted to dissolve the role, and return the responsibilities to the Publicity Officer - the Exec position ceased existing at the election of the 2017-2018 exec.
